Bob Dylan's lawyers describe the lawsuit as a "chronological impossibility".

In a lawsuit filed in August 2021 by an unidentified lady, Bob Dylan's attorneys officially disputed the charges of child sexual assault against the musician.

The woman, who remains unidentified up to date, alleged the 80-year old musician to have groomed and sexually abused her as a child. Dylan's legal team called the lawsuit a "fantastical and fictitious story being exploited for financial gain".

The lawsuit claims that Dylan attempted to "lower her inhibitions with the object of sexually abusing her". The case also furthered that the singer provided the woman, who was 12-years old at the time, "drugs, alcohol, and threats of physical violence," leaving the plaintiff "emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged".

The 'chronological impossibility'

In the amended suit against the ten-time Grammy Awardee, the alleged abuse NOW took place at New York's Chelsea Hotel for "several months" compared to the initial written "six-week" timeframe between April and May 1965.

The amendment came after historians noted that Dylan's engagement and other tours placed him outside the Big Apple in the months mentioned above.

Since the initial filing, music writer Clinton Heylin backed Bob Dylan on the confusing timelines, saying that it is "not possible" for Dylan to be present for a long time in New York during the time period the plaintiff have initially alleged; as the singer was in England and Los Angeles.

Dylan's camp has retorted to the amendment, calling it "a brazen shakedown masquerading as a lawsuit". They argued that the sexual assault case was filed in bad faith for the purpose of "extracting a huge payout" from Dylan on the threat of negative publicity.

Lawyers of Dylan have also called the allegation "false, malicious, reckless and defamatory", standing firm that Bob Dylan will not be extorted.

Plaintiff's extra-terrestrial beliefs

Aside from the amended timeframes, The 2016 Nobel laureate's legal team also noted the plaintiff seemed to be a firm believer of interesting psychic phenomena.

The accuser has publicly claimed that she has been abducted by aliens and possesses the ability to speak to animals, both living and dead, plants and insects.

However, the opposing camp has hit back on Dylan's team intrusion on the plaintiff's belief in psychic phenomena, subtly threatening the defendant's camp that if they were to attack somebody for their beliefs, they are "encroaching upon very dangerous territory".

No information has been released yet as to when this will be heard in court.
