The first Queer-themed festival is set to launch in the United Kingdom.

Taking place at the Springfield Farm in St. Albans, Ipswich, United Kingdom, the London Flesh Queer Festival launches on May 28 - 29, 2022.

The LGBTQ+ festival welcomes members of the community, their friends, families, and allies of the community as well.

Female musicians are featured in the line-up, including transgender, queer, and non-binary artists.

As per the organizers, Flesh will address "long-term issues" in festival programming, which male artists evidently dominate.

The queer-themed festival breaks the cycle, giving emerging and underrepresented talent a breakthrough on a larger scale.

Aside from giving representation to the community, the organizers believe that this step will "create visibility" and generate more traction and bookings for the queer artists involved. It can set an example for other festival promoters to follow.

A queer club night in London, Riposte London, will be hosting a festival tent that allows festivalgoers to participate in workshops, attend exclusive panels, and relax in the festival.

Selected winners will be given a chance to perform at the said festival in May. Weekend camping tickets are priced at £114, while two-day tickets without camping are at £89. Object Blue, Rebekah, Chippy Nonstop, SPFDJ, Jaguar, Juliana Huxtable, VTSS, and LSDXOXO are just a few of the artists that have been confirmed to perform at the event.

Mighty Hoopla 2022

Aside from the Flesh Queer Festival, the Mighty Hoopla in the United Kingdom was (if not the first) who have openly expressed that they are welcoming members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Set to open again in June, Mighty Hoopla promises for a "bigger and better" festival. The "UK's Best Pop Festival" is set to headline UK dance-pop group Steps and original British girl group Sugababes (composed of Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena, and Siobhán Donaghy) on the two-day festival on the Queen's Jubilee bank holiday weekend, June 3 - 4, 2022.

On the day of the event, attendees can expect to watch performances by Agnes Cleopatra, Eve Five Star, Kim Wilde, Louise Redknapp, Self Esteem, and Sink the Pink the 411, among others.

It will be the first time that the festival will be held across two days, with an estimated 50,000 festivalgoers in attendance - meaning that there will be a second full day of performances.
