Lil Wayne is literally "Sorry 4 The Wait".

After more than a decade since he dropped the mixtape "Sorry 4 The Wait", Lil Weezy finally released his mixtape on streaming platforms.

But aside from releasing it, he added four more new tracks for his fans to enjoy.

After teasing the release to the streaming platforms last week, the full of "Sorry 4 The Wait" is now accessible on streaming services. As a bonus, the album has four new tracks: "Cameras", "Lil Romeo", "Anti Hero" and "Bleu Snappin'".

The release of "Sorry 4 The Wait" follows the release of the mixtapes "No Ceilings" from 2009 and 'Free Weezy' from 2015, both of which were released for streaming last year.

The song "Bleu Snappin'" is actually a collaboration between Lil Wayne and Yung Bleu, which has significantly been awaited.

Yung Bleu, also known as Moon Boy, released a teaser on his Instagram Story in November 2021, as he also produced the much-awaited collaboration.

In July of 2011, Wayne released the 12-track album, which is prefaced by the single "Tunechi's Back" which heavily samples Meek Mill and Rick Ross' own anthem, "Tupac Back".

The album was released in part as an apology for the delayed release of Wayne's ninth album, 'Tha Carter IV,' which was initially scheduled for release in August of that year.

Why release the mixtapes now?

In an interview on Fake Shore Drive with Lil Wayne's longtime manager Cortex Bryant, he said that they released the mixtapes at this time because of the power of streaming.

Bryant added that they want the listening public to hear and discover Weezy's iconic mixtapes, as they want to make sure "it's at their fingertips on streaming platforms".

Lil Wayne's camp's goal is to "try to clear" as much as they can on overcoming the legalities of releasing the mixtape.

"It's hard 'cause on the mixtapes, he rapped on other people's beats. So that's all the writers, and producers, and labels, and publishers, so it's a bunch of people you got to go through to clear shit who may want too much money.", Cortez continued.

Recent collaborations and projects

Wayne made an appearance on a fresh version of Papoose's latest hit, '"Thought I Was Going to Stop", where he recently rapped with 2 Chainz, Busta Rhymes, and Remy Ma.

The collab was Weezy's first bars of the year (the next being on a collab with The Weeknd for his 'Dawn FM' album, which was also released in early January 2022). It came after appearing on over 20 tracks in 2021, including a collaboration with Drake.

In addition, Lil Wayne has announced the release of the 'Tha Carter Singles Collection,' which will include 19 previous singles in a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl boxset.
