The lineup for the upcoming Super Bowl LVI Halftime Performance is finally revealed!

The official account of the NFL shared a three-minute clip on Twitter announcing that hip-hop greats will take over the 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, which will happen on February 13.

The video came with a caption, which wrote, "The most epic, star-studded @Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show trailer is OUT! Watch these five music titans get ready for the #PepsiHalftime Show."

 

Super Bowl's Superstars Assemble

Pepsi, the NFL, and Roc Nation may have just formed a truly memorable lineup of rap superstars through a cinematic trailer titled "The Call." The clip featured stars Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, along with their greatest hits.

According to the New York Post, the director of "Straight Outta Compton," F. Gary Gray, collaborated with the five performers to get fans hyped for the football event. It is also scored by Grammy award-winning writer Adam Blackstone as well.

The clip was inspired by their iconic music videos and showcased the superstars' impact on pop culture over the last decades. Pepsi's Marketing Vice President Todd Kaplan released a statement following the trailer premiere.

He said, "Now that we are just weeks away from the most anticipated Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show performance of all time, we're bringing fans closer to the magic of what will certainly be a colossal moment in pop culture history."

Variety reported that the anticipated event marks the first time Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Blige, and Lamar will come together and perform on stage. This year's Super Bowl event also holds significance for the Los Angeles community, as three of the mentioned stars are native Angelenos, and the city is hosting for the first time in nearly 30 years.

In combination, these Fab Five have earned 43 Grammy awards in their career, and between them have 22 number-one albums on the Billboard 200. This has made many fans look forward to the big event.

Alongside the event, Pepsi, the Super Bowl, and the NFL have also collaborated to support the launch of Regional School #1, which is a South Los Angeles magnet high school open for students next fall as part of the LA Unified School District.
