New York Drill Rapper Chii Wvttz was reportedly fatally shot over the weekend. Wvttz adds to the long list of hip-hop artists who have succumbed to death since the past year.

Rapper Chii Wvttz, born Jayquan Mckenley, was shot outside a New York recording studio last Sunday.

Mckenley was reportedly ambushed early Sunday after leaving the recording studio in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Even though Chii Wvtzz lived in the Bronx, his relatives mentioned that he travels to and fro to Brooklyn to pursue his passion.

The studio where Mckenley was shot is a place rented via Airbnb, and he was leaving with a friend and other members of his group when a car pulled upon them, and someone opened, police sources said.

Detectives seek to find out if his homicide is related to a gunshot in the Bronx in August in which no one was hurt, sources said. Cops haven't traced his homicide directly to the drill rap scene yet.

One of his relatives, who claimed McKenley had lived for a while with his father in North Carolina, told the Daily News he hoped his little cousin had stayed there.

Chii Wvtzz death comes days after another budding drill rapper is ambushed in New York.

In connection to the onslaught, Huge hip-hop artists push for a Senate bill stopping New York prosecutors from using artists' lyrics as evidence for a conviction.
