After years of speculations and guessing, Slipknot's Tortilla Man has finally revealed his identity to the public following his replacement to Chris Fehn in 2019.

In a Reddit post, the percussionist revealed his identity, saying he's Michael Pfaff. The musician also shared behind-the-scenes secrets about the band.

First, he revealed how he got hired, saying the story was "pretty epic." Although he didn't share many details about it, he confirmed that he got a phone call while working at his day job.

Speaking about how hard it was to keep his identity a secret, Pfaff said he had a hard time as everybody has access to the internet and technology. He even kept the secret from his wife, and she never knew he flew to Los Angeles twice.

Slipknot opted to keep his secret because they wanted to remain mysterious since "wearing a mask" is the band's branding.

The name Tortilla Man was an alias given by fans because of his mask; Pfaff said it spawned from the first live stream after he joined.

"I saw some comments and I honestly thought it was pretty cool," he revealed. (via Loudwire)

Now that the long guessing is over, the percussionist said it was "the best" to see fans trying to piece out pieces of evidence to figure out who he is.

It seems like he has been a fan of Slipknot long before he became a part of the band, as he first encountered them in 1998 when he was reading an article.

So far, his best moment with the death metal group was their Jimmy Kimmel appearance as it happened to fall on the same day as his birthday.

What Happened to Chris Fehn?

In 2019, Slipknot shocked fans when they announced that Chris Fehn wouldn't be a part of their group anymore.

It was not a healthy separation as the band issued a statement, saying they were disappointed that the former percussionist chose to "point fingers and manufacture claims" instead of doing the necessary to continue being a part of them.

Per the outlet, the musician had filed a lawsuit against his former groupmates, claiming he was not paid back for what he was owed.

In 2019, fans were surprised to see a press photo showing nine members despite Fehn leaving the group; this was the time when Pfaff joined Slipknot.
