Joni Mitchell will officially add a new feat under her belt as she is scheduled to join the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year celebration.

Two nights before the Grammy Awards, Mitchell will join Chaka Khan, Mickey Guyton, St. Vincent, Beck, and Cyndi Lauper who will be honored at the event.

For Mitchell, several musicians were tapped to honor her during the 2022 celebration, including Sara Bareilles, Brandi Carlile, Pentatonix, Black Pumas, Stephen Stills, Leon Bridges, Herbie Hancock, and Jon Batiste.

To pay more tributes to her, Mitchell's longtime partner, Graham Nash, will offer a remote performance.

In a statement, the executive director of MusiCares, Laura Segura said that the event would celebrate the greatest musicians who made contributions in the industry while raising funds for several causes.

"We will be celebrating with a purpose, toasting one of music's greatest songwriters and musicians while raising vital funds to address the critical health and social service needs of the music community," she said, as quoted by USA Today.

Mitchell will be honored for her influence in the music industry in the past decades.

As part of the MusiCares Person of the Year celebration, they will also have a virtual fund-raising concert, "MusiCares: Music on a Mission," on March 30.

MusiCares is a Recording Academy foundation that provides health and human services aids to the members of the music community. So far, the organization has already given $23 million worth of COVID-19 relief who were affected by the hiccup in the industry.

For what it's worth, her official site confirmed in 2015 that Mitchell suffered a brain aneurysm. She was rushed to a medical facility after being found unconscious on her bathroom floor. She became the subject of false reports, claiming she was in a coma.

Mitchell survived the health issue and came back healthier and stronger than ever.

"Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm. However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative. The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she's speaking well ... A full recovery is expected," the statement went on.
