Def Jam Recordings honors women in its latest creation, "The Women of Def Jam," a compilation album of various female artists in the history of the world's premier hip-hop record label.

The 24 track album arrived recently on all streaming platforms via Def Jam Recordings. It would also be released as a collector's edition Triple-LP box set.

Per Variety, the range of women included in the new album spans from Foxy Brown, Nicki D, Boss, Ashanti to Amerie, Rapsody, and newer artists like Teyana Taylor and Alessia Cara, H.E.R, and Jhené Aiko.

It is the first time a collection has been compiled in honor of the female artists who have dominated hip-hop and R&B music since the 1990s.

"The Women of Def" Jam is a long-overdue tribute to the record label whose staff is comprised of the most inclusive and diverse group of female executives currently working in the industry.

Def Jam Recordings Chairman & CEO Tunji Balogun highlighted that there were "so many" amazing stories to tell about the label today and how women were involved is positioned throughout the company.

Udiscovermusic reports that Def Jam Recordings is home to a group of female executives who are among the most inclusive and diverse in the music business.

Women account for more than half of the Def Jam workforce, with seven women of color holding top management roles.

They also hold two of the top three executive positions, while eight are female department heads out of ten.

Proud of how women championed the organizational structure, Def Jam Executive Vice Presidents Nicki Farag and LaTrice Burnette pointed out that the label has always been about "setting the tone" and leading the culture.

With the trailblazing feat that the label has achieved, the upcoming album will surely raise the flag in future sales as it has compiled various chart-topping tracks.

Released in a collector's edition triple vinyl set, the first vinyl record features hits from Foxy Brown, Nikki D, Boss, Ashanti, Shawnna, and Teairra Marí.

The second disc includes Shareefa, Amerie, Chrisette Michele, Saint Bodhi, and Teyana Taylor.

The last disc, on the other hand, will play songs from Alessia Cara, Bibi Bourelly, Kaash Paige, DaniLeigh, 070 Shake, Jhené Aiko, and H.E.R.
