Nearly four decades after their debut, Red Hot Chili Peppers is finally getting the recognition they deserved as the Hollywood Walk of Fame announced that the iconic band would be getting their own star.

According to Billboard, the rock band was formed in Los Angeles, California, and one of their commercially successful albums, "Californication," was dedicated to the city.

On Monday, the organization behind the Hollywood Walk of Fame announced that the band will be getting their star in the second row of 6212 Holywood Boulevard.

The band's producer for the album "Freaky Stylety," George Clinton, will unveil the star on March 31 with Woody Harrelson, Bob Forrest, and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce chairwoman Nicole Mihalka.

In an interview with Variety, Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said they have been waiting for Red Hot Chili Peppers to get out of their busy schedules to finally get the commemoration.

"We are thrilled to welcome them to our Walk of Fame family," Martinez added.

The band isn't the first rock band to have the immense honor as the organization has previously paid tribute to iconic groups like The Beatles, Chicago, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Jane's Addiction, and many more.
