Tom Parker, a member of the popular British-Irish boy band The Wanted, has passed away at the young age of 33 after a battle with a shocking medical condition.

According to BBC, the singer died after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He initially announced that he had an inoperable tumor in October 2020.

His wife Kelsey took to Instagram to announce the tragic news, saying her beloved husband passed away peacefully beside his family members.

"Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can't imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence."

She added that they are thankful for fans who supported them throughout his cancer journey, and their family wanted his supporters to "unite" to ensure her husband's light continues to shine for his kids.

The remaining members of The Wanted, consisting of Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Skyes, and Jay McGuinness, also shared a statement on the social media platform, writing, "He was our brother, words can't express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts."

The band was formed in 2009 and had two number one singles ("I'm Glad You Came" and "All Time Low") in the United Kingdom.

His bandmate, Kaneswaran, also paid tribute to the late singer, saying he's grateful to have witnessed his "true courage," and it was a pleasure of his life.

Last year, the boyband reunited at the Royal Albert Hall for a charity gig titled "Stand Up To Cancer," an event organized by Parker himself to raise money for the National Brain Appeal.

According to the Irish Mirror, the late singer was "petrified" before the event. He opened up about his true feelings in the Channel 4 documentary "Tom Parker: Inside My Head," which followed his cancer journey.

It was his last television appearance.

Throughout the program, it showed how grueling treatments and cycles of chemotherapies were for the singer.

In one clip, Parker reunited with his bandmates through a zoom call where he said he was "genuinely petrified" of their performance as the band hadn't gotten together in nearly seven years.

He then opened up about his true feelings for his fellow musicians, saying their bond had not changed despite not seeing each other in a long time.
