There are a few things that Miley Cyrus loves a lot these days: tattoos, The Flaming Lips and posting goofy photos on her Instagram. Yesterday (Aug. 5), the "Adore You" singer mixed together all three things by getting some Wayne Coyne inspired ink while on a break from the new leg of her Bangerz Tour.
As detailed in the stories of her Instagram snaps, Cyrus took pit stop between Bangerz shows in Pittsburgh and Charlotte for a trip to New York City, where she visited with celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang. While the two friends hung out, Cyrus got inked twice: once with a "BFF" crescent moon and once with a tribute to her new favorite psychedelic band.
Cyrus' Flaming Lips tattoo came in the form of the phrase "Love Yer Brain," a reference to the closing track on the group's 1987 album Oh My Gawd!!!... The Flaming Lips. The song title is etched on Cyrus' arm in purposefully shaky looking handwriting, because it is a Flaming Lips reference, after all.

This isn't Cyrus' totally first Flaming Lips-related ink. Last month, Cyrus, Coyne and Coyne's girlfriend Katy Weaver all got matching tattoos, which were simultaneously dedicated to the Flaming Lips and Cyrus' deceased dog Floyd. That tattoo featured a dog with the phrase "With A Little Help From My Fwends" around it.
Cyrus' moon carries less of a musical weight, but it adds to her collection of tiny tattoos, which also include an eye and heart on her fingers.
