Who is Pamela Rooke?

Born in 1955 in Seaford, East Sussex, England, Pamela Rooke was an English model and actress.

However, at the age of 14, Rooke took on the name Jordan (sometimes Jordan Mooney).

Her notable works have included those with Vivienne Westwood and the Sex boutique in the Kings Road area of London in the mid-1970s and for attending many of the early Sex Pistols performances.

Jordan was considered an icon of the London punk subculture because of her bleached platinum blonde hairdo, dark raccoon-like eye make-up, style, and fashion sense.

Jordan worked as a manager for Adam and the Ants in the 1970s, where she recorded the song "Lou" (a tribute to American musician Lou Reed) for BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel's Peel Sessions and frequently performed the music live with the band from mid-1977 to May 1978, when she resigned.

Years later, Jordan continued band management and became Wide Boy Awake's manager. His then-husband, Kevin Mooney, played guitar in the band and was also previously a bassist for Adam and the Ants.

Tributes to Jordan have poured out all over Twitter, reminiscing her contributions as an icon of the subgenre.
