Tory Lanez was put behind bars again after violating court-mandated orders over the ongoing lawsuit between GRAMMY-winning artist Megan Thee Stallion.

The Canadian male rapper was charged with a felony assault in 2020 after shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet while arguing.

Tory Lanez Arrested Again For Violating Protocols

Per Rolling Stone, Lanez was "handcuffed and taken into custody" in a Los Angeles courtroom earlier.

Judge David Herriford discovered that Lanez violated "protective orders" in his felony assault case.

The judge also upped his bail from $250,000 to $350,000, which, when posted immediately, guarantees freedom for Tory Lanez.

Lanez's lawyer confirmed to Pitchfork that the District Attorney even requested that the rapper's bail be increased to $5,000,000 or be revoked entirely, which he noted that they are "pleased" at the court for not granting.

The court found out today that the rapper tweeted what "seem to be clear messages" addressed to Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion, in which he is now prohibited to "mention" on any social media.

Aside from this, Tory Lanez could not contact nor be near the "Thot Shit" rapper within 100 yards. He previously violated this prohibition in 2021 at the Rolling Loud Miami, where he performed at the same festival with Megan Thee Stallion.

Pitchfork reported that the judge increased his bail from $190,000 to $250,000 for violating the restraining order.

Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion Lawsuit Explained

After coming home from a party on Jul. 12, 2020, Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez argued while travelling in an SUV in Hollywood Hills, to which Megan alleged that Tory shot her in the foot.

Tory Lanez was charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle; these are aside from the allegations of personally inflicting great bodily injury.

At the time he violated the restraining order for showing unannounced at DaBaby's set in Rolling Loud Miami, the judge reminded him of his sentence if convicted.

"You're facing years in prison, over 22 years in prison. They could have filed an additional charge based on violating the protective order because that's a violation of law, as well. You do not want to be doing things like this, sir," Judge Keith Borjon said at the time.

As of writing, it is unknown if Lanez will be posting the $350,000 bail, but it was reported that a trial in the case is tentatively slated for December 2022.
