Many fans were excited when Crowded House announced their Australian tour for this year, but it seems like the remaining four dates won't be pushing through because of frontman Neil Finn's medical condition; what happened to the singer?

According to The Guardian, the 63-year-old star tested positive for COVID-19, leading their band to cancel their tour hours before their next scheduled show.

Taking to their official Twitter account, the band issued a statement written by Finn, saying he's "absolutely crushed" to postpone their remaining shows.

"I tested positive yesterday morning for COVID. In these very difficult conditions for touring, we were taying in our bubble and observing very strict protocols but somehow the virus stil slipped through," he wrote.

He added that he's relieved to be the only person in their circle experiencing mild symptoms.

Finn also expressed his gratitude towards COVID-19 protection as he's already triple boosted with a vaccine.

"I am sorry to disappoint our fans this coming week, but rest assured we will be back to make it good," the singer concluded.

In the same statement, the band took note of the remaining canceled shows in the bottom corner of their announcement.

The postponed shows are Mystate Bank Arena in Hobart, Royal Theatre on Canberra this April 21, Duneed Estate in Geelong on April 23, and Bimbadgem, Hunter Valley on April 24.

Crowded House clarified that rescheduled dates, along with the band's three sold-out shows in Perth, Australia, will be announced soon.

In the meantime, ticket holders should wait for further announcements as the band will notify them of rescheduled dates through their ticketing agency.

Originally purchased tickets will still be valid for rescheduled dates without the need for exchange.

Before the lockdown happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the band initially announced that they were recording new material with founding member and bassist Nick Seymour.

The duo was accompanied by the singer's children, Liam and Elroy Finn, as well as keyboardist Mitchell Froom.

Before releasing their album "Dreamers Are Waiting," Finn said in a statement, "Liam and Elroy have come in as great songwriters, arrangers and are really good players. They've both had a tremendously good experience of music and life."
