Jacqueline Avant's murderer received his sentence months after the horrifying crime.

On Tuesday, the court sentenced the man who killed the wife of music legend Clarence Avant to 150 years to life imprisonment, according to Deadline. The 30-year-old murderer, Aariel Maynor, previously pleaded guilty to killing Jacqueline and attempting to murder a security guard, whom he shot four to eight times.

In a report shared by Rolling Stone, Deputy District Attorney Victor Avila detailed how the philanthropist was shot in the back during the ambush inside her home. He added that the suspect still searched Clarence's name online before trespassing the music icon's home in pursuit of doing his premeditated theft.

Judge Kathryn Solorzano said, "He shot a completely vulnerable victim, 81 years old, no match for him, and she was caught by surprise. And then he left (her) there and compounded the issue by firing multiple rounds at the unarmed security guard."

She added that Maynor planned the crime, and they found evidence on his phone.

Meanwhile, the sentencing memo detailed how Clarence was found sitting on the floor as he held his wife's head when the Beverly Hills Police arrived at his home. At that time, Jacqueline was already breathing faintly and could not open her eyes anymore. She also struggled to answer the responder's question.

Jacqueline's daughter, Nicole, penned a victim impact statement which the deputy district attorney read. The bereaved called the crime a "nightmare" that shattered the family.

Murderer Also Pleads Guilty to Other Charges

Aside from murder and attempted murder, Maynor also pleaded no contest to other charges, including a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of first-degree residential burglary with a person present.

The suspect allegedly used a long barrel pistol during the incident. After shooting Jacqueline dead, a guard immediately rushed to check what happened, but the suspect also fired at him before getting away from the scene.

Los Angeles Police Department's Deputy Chief Blake Chow said that they identified that the suspect used an AR-15-style assault weapon in the shooting. At that time, he said they finally arrested Maynor.

"Crime of any type will not be tolerated in our city," Stainbrook said, per Yahoo! Entertainment. "We will not rest until the suspect or suspects in this case are brought to justice."

Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook also noted that the suspect had an "extensive criminal record" and was already on parole when he got arrested.
