How Andy Fletcher Became Gamechanger for Depeche Mode

Fletcher first started his music career when he moved to Basildon and formed the Composition Of Sound band alongside Martine Gore and Vince Clarke.

After recruiting Dave Gahan, they changed their name to Depeche Mode and became an icon during the 1980s by selling more than 100 million records around the world.

Among the music they released, their 1990 LP "Violator" is still considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Critics believe that the album helped Depeche Mode become what it is today, influencing bands and artists.

For over 40 years, he worked hard with the band until they made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their pioneering role in the synth-pop, new wave, and electronic music movements.

Depeche Mode was also recognized for its influential role in heavy metal.

In 1990, Fletcher left an inspiring note to Rolling Stone, saying: "The beauty of using electronics is that music can now be made in your bedroom. You don't need to get four people together in some warehouse to practice. You don't have to have four excellent musicians fighting among themselves. You can do it in your bedroom, and it's all down to ideas."

He famously joked about his role in the group, revealing that he just bummed around while Gahan served as their frontman, Alan as the main musician, and Gore as the songwriter.

Despite that, he became part of all the 14 studio albums of Depeche mode and countless record-breaking tours and concerts.
