Skylar Grey has been out in the limelight for quite some time already, but not because she is preparing for her next career move in music.

Popularly known for penning huge tracks for Eminem, Rihanna, and Kehlani, the singer/songwriter has been in a massive battle for her divorce.

The legal headache that she has suffered cost her not only her mental health but also the fortune she has made for penning her iconic tracks.

Skylar Grey Divorce Led Her To Sell Entire Music Catalog

From penning huge songs like "Love The Way You Lie," "Clarity," and "Glorious," Skylar Grey was an accomplished songwriter and singer.

However, her bustling catalog of hit songs and entire discography are now not within her reach anymore.

Speaking to Variety recently, the singer revealed that she has sold her entire catalog just to pay her mountain of legal bills for her disastrous divorce.

"I wasn't really allowed to talk about everything that was going on because I was in a legal dispute. But since 2017, I was going through a divorce and lawsuit, that was just wrecking me emotionally and financially," the 36-year-old singer said.

According to Grey, she has finally resolved the contentious divorce last 2021. To settle, she had to sell her entire catalog to afford the settlement. Although "sad" about the sale, she had to let go of "Love the Way You Lie," and "Coming Home," which she referred to as her "babies."

Aside from her big hits, the GRAMMY-nominated songwriter was also forced to sell her hits with G-Eazy, Ciara, and Nick Jonas in the market as her last resort.

With her life work sold already, Skylar Grey admitted that she has already put the past behind her and focused on moving forward.

Grey is now focused on the self-titled album that she would be releasing this year.

"taking all matters into my own hands, managing myself, and producing my own album. I'm doing my own merch, I'm selling my own merch and shipping, packing, and shipping out of my house right now. I'm back at square one, but I really believe in what I'm doing," she said.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Skylar Grey's current net worth is estimated to be $16 million.

Her net worth stemmed from her mountain of songwriting credits and her three studio albums. Her biggest one is "Don't Look Down" in 2013. It reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 charts.
