Lea Michele will be living the Rachel Berry dreams as she is reportedly cast as Fanny Brice in the "Funny Girl" revival on Broadway.

The news came on the heels of Feldstein's announced exit from the show, along with fellow "Glee" alumna Jane Lynch, playing Feldstein's character's mother, Mrs. Brice.

Michele has long been in talks for the role of Fanny Brice on Broadway after playing the same role in the FOX hit show "Glee."

Lea Michele is Fanny Brice in 'Funny Girl' Broadway Revival

Showbiz 411 insider says that Lea Michele is reportedly cast as Fanny Brice on the Broadway revival of "Funny Girl."

Nothing has been officially cast in stone yet, but producers said that they have already found an obvious replacement for the iconic role that Broadway icon Barbra Streisand originated.

Michele will be replacing a departing Beanie Feldstein on the role, whose portrayal of the role was met with negative feedback from critics.

Numerous reviews have pointed out that Feldstein did not fill in Streisand's shoes for the role.

"Whether in diva mode or an anxious, awkward frenzy, Feldstein mostly hangs on to a torpedo of a character. But this is a musical, one with some full-tilt belting, and her singing just isn't up to par. Paper-thin, reedy in the higher registers and overly nasal throughout, Feldstein's voice is noticeably untextured compared to the rest of the cast," The Guardian pointed out.

On the other hand, Michele had been long prepared for the role. From internalizing Barbra Streisand as her own icon in her character as Rachel Berry in "Glee" to actually achieving her goal on the same show.

Michele had proven that she has the singing chops to play Fanny Brice, as seen in her performance of "Funny Girl" hits on the show and "Don't Rain on My Parade" on the Tony Awards in 2011.

Should she be cast for the role - it would be a full-circle moment for the "Scream Queens" actress.

Reports also suggest that Michele's appearance at the Tony Awards 2022 last Sunday was for producers to see two things - either to see how Michele would be perceived now or that she has already got the deal and they are parading her already.
