FKA Twigs' latest music project "Caprisongs" was released earlier this year and she only found out that one of her collaborators is biologically related to her.

According to Billboard, the 34-year-old musician shared a surprising connection to her "Darjeeling" guest feature Jorja Smith.

In an interview with British GQ, the "cellophane" hitmaker said she had never met Smith before and during their first encounter in a car, it felt strange because they got the exact same kind of skin.

Before recording the song, she also made a mental note to ask the singer about recommendations for cosmetic products because they share similar yellow undertones on their skins.

After collaborating on the track, the two became friends and later found out that they were cousins.

"A few months later, I was on the road to go to L.A. and [Jorja] left me a voice note saying, 'You're never going to believe this, but I've just spoken to my dad and he's spoken to his sister and we're related," she said.

Twigs' "Caprisongs" featured several artists like The Weeknd and Daniel Caesar.

The music project debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. It also placed No. 3 on the Top Alternative Albums chart.

The latest revelation comes a few days after FKA Twigs released a new song titled "Killer."

Speaking about the concept, the British singer said it's dangerous to be a woman in love.

"In my song 'Killer' I explore this concept. The navigation, the hunt, and the kill. The death of promises, dreams and the future that was once promised," she said. (via Forbes)

Other Musicians That Are Related to Each Other

It turns out, there are numerous musicians in the industry that are surprisingly related to each other.

According to Oprah Daily, Snoop Dogg and Brandy are first cousins. The rapper confirmed their connection to MTV years ago.

"We never really told the world because we weren't trippin' off of that, but that's my family," he said.

Aside from being cousins, they're also collaborators as they worked on the song "Special."

Dionne Warwick and Whitney Houston are also related and it's apparent that the music legend has passed down her singing abilities to her younger cousin.

The two previously performed together along with Stevie Wonder before the "I Have Nothing" songstress passed away in 2012.
