Many fans would think Muse and Slipknot as an unlikely pairing, but the former made it work during their most recent festival appearance, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

According to Loudwire, the band performed at the Isle of Wight festival in Newport, England, where they covered snippets of several songs before they wrapped up the show.

Some of the tracks include "Back in Black" by AC/DC, "Know Your Enemy" by Rage Against the Machine," "Foxey Lady" by Jimi Hendrix, and "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses.

There was another song that made fans scream throughout the performance: Slipknot's "Duality."

Despite covering the metal legends' song only recently, the two music acts had a bizarre connection in the past.

In 2001, Slipknot and Muse were included among the performers at Metalfest in Spain.

Frontman Corey Taylor threw his mask into fans at the end of their performance. The concertgoer named Paula Meliveo gave it to one of the members of Muse when she hung out with them.

"Oh, the Slipknot guy threw it to this girl at the side of the stage after they played because he must have wanted to impress her," Matt Bellamy revealed. (via Revolver Magazine)

The frontman added that the fan wanted him instead, so they got the mask. Their drummer Dominic Howard got to try the mask on, and Bellamy revealed that he thinks he got possessed because his bandmate started running around screaming.

In early reports, the band kicked off their summer festival tour leg earlier this month at Rock Am Ring 2022. They performed an unreleased track titled "Kill Or Be Killed" for the first time.

Their set list includes several songs from their eras, including the recently released track "Will Of The People," 2002's "Hullabaloo," "Nishe," "Showbiz," "Unintended," and many more.

In total, their set had 20 songs at the time, which was wrapped up by performing "Knights of Cydonia."

Muse's next show will be at the VOLT Festival in Sopron, Hungary.

They only have a few shows left, including Mallorca, Athens, St. Gallen, Hérouville-Saint-Clair, Belfort, Los Angeles, Chicago, Sacramento, and many more.

Their final show will be at the Admiralspalas in Berlin on October 28, 2022.
