Paul McCartney has a special treat for fans before he headlines this year's Glastonbury Festival as he announced a surprise gig ahead of his performance.

According to The Independent UK, the 80-year-old musician announced on social media that he's going to perform at the Cheese and Grain in Frome, Somerset, on Friday starting at 5 p.m.

The venue can hold over 800 people, and tickets are on a "first-come, first-served" basis.

"In 24 hours time from now Paul McCartney will be performing live, here in Frome, at the Cheese and Grain. What an incredible opportunity to watch Paul warm up for his Glastonbury headlining performance this weekend," the venue shared on their official website.

The statement also added that having the former Beatles member perform is an "amazing treat."

Fans can expect a different side of the singer as his set won't be his usual lineup. There will also be "wonderful surprises."

A few moments later, after the announcement, organizers took to social media to announce that tickets, which were priced at £25 ($30.65), had sold out in less than an hour. (via BBC News)

McCartney is set to make history of being Glastonbury Festival's oldest ever solo headliner at the age of 80.

The music legend will be performing this weekend, exactly a week after he celebrated his birthday.

The festival started a few days ago (June 22) and will wrap up on June 26.

Aside from McCartney, Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar will also headline on different dates.

This is the event's biggest comeback after 2020 and 2021 shows were canceled where Taylor Swift was supposed to headline.
