Drake and Lil Wayne dropped the new promotional single "Grindin'" yesterday to kick off their joint tour.
Then, when the rappers hit the stage for their first show, they broke out the new song as if they'd been performing it for years.
MTV was at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in New York on Friday night, and correspondent Rob Markman liked what he saw.
"The crowd was still largely unfamiliar, but that didn't stop the duo from delivering the song with expert timing," Markman wrote. "Looks like this one will be here to stay."

"The haunting beat of the track is highlighted by a repetitive, high octave piano with heavy drum machine beats keeping the pace in line," she wrote. "It's intense music - not so much for a party, instead hyping listeners up for a big event, be it a fight or a massive joint tour.
"Ever the strained vocalist, Wayne sounds as stressed and high pitched as ever, getting a little singsong-y with his rhymes over the intense beat, resulting in a very ominous single. Drake follows in line with Wayne's flow, almost becoming undistinguishable from his mentor. Matching his high voice with his own, Drake begins to carry the beat along, making for a seamless 'Grindin'' transition."
The new track is rumored to be part of Wayne's Tha Carter IV, but that has not been confirmed. The rappers are set to continue their Drake Vs. Lil Wayne Tour in Noblesville, IN on Saturday night.
