Nita Strauss has been a member of Alice Cooper's band for almost ten years now, but she recently shared an announcement that shocked fans as she revealed that she's leaving the band and canceling her tour this 2022.

The guitarist took to her official Instagram account to share the surprising announcement, saying she had an incredible run in Europe for her last tour, but won't be joining the band anymore when they embark on their fall tour later this year.

In addition, she won't be performing with her solo band for their planned appearances at different festivals.

To clarify her statement, Strauss said she's not pregnant and there's no "drama" happening behind closed doors.

"There is no drama whatsoever and my touring year is still VERY full - in fact, I'm on a flight straight into the next adventure as I post this, and I'll be onstage again much sooner than you think! But that's news for another day," she clarified. (via Ultimate Classic Rock)

To conclude her post, she noted that playing with the band for eight years has been the "experience of a lifetime."

She then expressed gratitude to some of the people who helped her career.

"I could not be more grateful to Alice and Sheryl Cooper, Shep Gordon, the amazing band, crew and fans for welcoming me to all of your nightmare," she added.

Lastly, Strauss's future appears unclear because she doesn't know what the future holds after her exit, but she's "forever grateful."

Per the outlet, the guitarist joined Alice Cooper's band in 2014 to replace Orianthi. She has been playing with other musicians like Ryan Roxie and Tommy Henriksen.

Before ultimately joining the band, she used to play with several groups like the all-women Iron Maiden tribute band called Iron Maidens and a glam-metal group called Femme Fatale.

She got discovered by Kip Winger who later referred her to Cooper when the singer started having auditions to look for a new guitarist.

Strauss' career wasn't easy as she previously told the outlet that there's a lot of sexist criticism and skepticism she received in the past even though she became a cover of several guitar magazines, endorsed instrument brands, and more.

The guitarist said she didn't want to reply to the negative comments, but there was a point where a hater named other musicians who are better than her and should have the recognition.

As of this writing, Alice Cooper has not announced a new guitarist.
