Fans of Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett were surprised last night after the two were spotted together on the red carpet premiere of "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" Season 3.

It seemed like a dream come true for most fans after seeing Olivia and Joshua together again, happy, after issues between their alleged breakup surfaced years ago.

Joshua Bassett has been the lead on the hit Disney Plus show since Season 1, while Olivia Rodrigo, who recently had a career breakthrough with her GRAMMY-winning album, "SOUR," was demoted as a guest star this time.

Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett Spotted on 'HSMTMTS' Season 3 Premiere

After the first episode for the "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" Season 3 aired yesterday on Disney Plus, its premiere night was held the night after.

The premiere was relatively silent on the headlines until Twitter got a hold of photos and videos of Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo together on the red carpet.

Bassett and Rodrigo faced the media happily and posed as if their issues did not even happen in the past months.

Fans of the two were clearly shocked seeing them both together, considering their "souring" relationship through the years, mostly because Olivia has not directly addressed the situation.

But with the amazing display of friendship, some claim "mended relationship," between the two, it would seem like the drama is finally over.

Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett Relationship Timeline Explained

Olivia Rodrigo, who was 17 years old at the time "High School Musical: The Musical" Season 1 aired, met 19-year-old Joshua Bassett on the set.

Playing the lead roles on the hit television show, mirroring predecessor Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgen's on-screen chemistry, the two was well-received by many.

Although it was never confirmed, their on-screen love interests apparently grew off-screen, and dating rumors between the two have emerged.

However, it seemed like the "dating" part was short-lived as somewhere in 2020, Olivia posted a now-iconic TikTok video where she hinted at an alleged "breakup" between him and Bassett.

Coincidentally, days after, Joshua Bassett was spotted doing TikToks and lunch dates with fellow Disney star Sabrina Carpenter.

The Sabrina Carpenter angle was more heightened when Olivia dropped her breakout single, "drivers license," which many claims are a jab at Bassett and Carpenter.

The issue between the three of them blew up without any of them addressing it directly.

It was only until Joshua addressed it this year, admitting he was hospitalized because of the online bullying he got on social media about the love triangle.

However, the rift between Rodrigo and Carpenter was kinda squashed after the two were snapped talking to each other at the 2022 Met Gala, to which they were both invited to.

It was only this red carpet premiere that Bassett and Rodrigo were seen together since the issue.
