King Princess had just released her new album "Hold On Baby" and its credits featured one of the most legendary musicians of all time.

According to People Magazine, the singer dropped her second album on Friday and the final song from the tracklist is titled "Let Us Die."

The song featured drums from the late Taylor Hawkins and the singer recalled how the collaboration happened.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the singer, whose real name is Mikaela Straus, said the idea came from famed producer Mark Ronson after he heard her demo.

Ronson then thought that the song needed to have a live drummer and she immediately agreed.

Later on, the record producer suggested that Hawkins could contribute to the song, and King Princess' reaction was priceless.

"Oh, my God, do you think we can get Taylor?" she recalled saying.

The "Uptown Funk" hitmaker later called the drummer and he immediately agreed to work on the project.

She gave more details about the collaboration in an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1.

"So we FaceTimed. He was recording in L.A., I was in New York, and it was crazy. I was in my childhood home - my dad's recording studio - listening to Taylor make my record better than I ever thought it could be," she said.

Every after time the musician recorded the beats for the song, he would FaceTime King Princess asking her if what he did was okay and her response was always "It's amazing."

Hawkins never rushed his work on the song as he took his time to record and perfect the beats, which the singer thought was "so kind and gracious."

"And he was like, 'I'm just so thankful. I just love this song, and I just love playing.' He was just saying he loves playing drums," she added.

The singer emphasized that people should strive to be like Hawkins as she was glad to hear those sentiments from someone who worked so long in the music industry and had been through a lot of bands in his career.

Even though they didn't know each other on a personal level, King Princess felt supported by his "musicianship" and couldn't believe they collaborated on a track.

Upon finding out about Hawkins' death earlier this year, the singer was in complete shock and devastated.

The former Foo Fighters drummer passed away a few months ago in his hotel in Colombia hours before the band's scheduled performance at a music festival.
