Over the past few weeks, Bruce Springsteen fans have been fuming over the unreasonably high prices of his tickets for the 2023 Arena Tour.

But despite the backlash his team, and Ticketmaster received because of angry fans, the Dynamic Pricing Program of the provider persisted and continued to sell ticket prices at the same rate.

While Ticketmaster and even Bruce Springsteen's manager attempted to justify the prices, a relatively large portion of the fanbase remains unsatisfied with the explanations.

Bruce Springsteen Arena Tour Used Ticketmaster's Dynamic Pricing Program

Since the tickets for Bruce Springsteen Arena Tour went on sale in the last few weeks of July, fans of the rock star have expressed disappointment and criticism on the jacked-up prices.

Ticketmaster, the ticketing provider of the Bruce Springsteen Arena Tour, has used its Dynamic Pricing Program. Through this, ticket prices for venues could fluctuate depending on the demand for tickets in the area.

Based on several accounts, ticket prices could go from $400 tickets to as much as $5,000 due to the demand.

The move, as Ticketmaster puts it, aims to devalue the secondary trade market for ticket resale and scalpers.

Instead of scalpers getting good tickets for cheap prices and selling them higher to others, Ticketmaster, through the Dynamic Pricing Program, sells them at the same high rate - but the artists get the money, not the secondary market.

Per Ticketmaster, among the tickets sold, only 11.2% of them were part of the highly-contested Platinum Tickets of the Dynamic Pricing Program as the average seat price is still at $200.

Experts Explain Why Prices Remain The Same Despite Fan Backlash

According to New York State Senator James Skoufis, the problem persists up until now because of the lack of competition in the live music industry.

"They are a monopoly. That comes with all of the standard problems that are associated with monopolies, not the least of which is there is not a healthy competitive market," Skoufis told Rolling Stone.

True enough, Ticketmaster dominates the industry being the sole ticket provider of major concert venues in the entire United States - with the 2010 merger with Live Nation, they became a force to reckon with.

Because of this dominance, Bruce Springsteen and Adele fans, are forced to accept these exorbitant prices without having to worry about consequences because there is no competition in the first place.
