Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, but is he truly dead?

Several conspiracy theorists claim he never died.

This week, admirers of the King of Rock and Roll commemorate Elvis Week, a yearly commemoration time to honor him, who died 45 years ago at his Graceland residence.

However, as soon as Elvis died, other hypotheses emerged claiming that he had been alive all along.

In fact, on the day of his burial, Elvis was photographed boarding a plane at Memphis International Airport.

Several such "sightings" have been recorded in the years thereafter.

However, the most famous glimpse of Elvis Presley alive came in the 1990 Christmas film "Home Alone."

The hypothesis was introduced at the scene in which Kevin's mother was shouting at the airport about her missing kid.

Just behind her was a man who resembled Elvis Presley.

The "extra" has an uncanny likeness to Elvis, right down to the jaw and signature hairdo. However, there are certain distinctions to be made.

The actor had a full beard across his face, giving him a "disguised" appearance.

After several years of speculation, it was proposed that the "Can't Help Falling In Love" singer did not die, but instead went into hiding before appearing as an extra in the film.

The filmmaker also discussed the "Elvis" cameo in "Home Alone."

"These folks are sure that this is Elvis Presley," Christopher Columbus claimed.

"That he faked his death, and that he's an extra in Home Alone because he still loves show business... Take a look at him; he's not Elvis Presley!"

Tarquin Gotch, the film's executive producer, also weighed in on the claim, adding, "I have no clue what drove it; he doesn't look anything like Elvis!"

In theory, Julio Macat, the film's cinematographer, had a different point of view.

"Well, it wasn't planned if he was Elvis."

Elvis Presley Graceland Home Preserved

The upstairs of Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion is apparently off-limits to the public, but one of the few persons who has access to it says the room he used to stay in is kept as if he just got up and left.

The upstairs housed Elvis' office, dressing room, Lisa Marie's room, his bedroom, and the bathroom where he was discovered unconscious and died of a heart attack at the age of 42.

"The record on the record player is the last record Elvis listened to," says Graceland's VP of Archives and Exhibits Angie Marchese.

"A styrofoam cup is sitting on a bookcase. The bed is made, so we truly keep it the way Lisa wants us to keep it. So, while [fans] cannot see it, it has been addressed."
