Lil Tjay worried his fans after hoax reports emerged.

News about Lil Tjay being a victim of an attempted robbery that ended in a shooting incident in New Jersey. He and another man, Antoine Boyd, both sustained gunshot wounds.

The incident led to false reports, including Lil Tjay's brain death. Several users on Twitter also started spreading reports about the rapper being paralyzed after sustaining injuries.

Others also claimed that he already died in the hospital.

Although the first rumors have since been debunked, new claims about the rapper's passing after a "stabbing incident" emerged.

On Twitter, fans noticed that the phrase "lil tjay stabbing video" continues to appear on the most searched list under the rapper's name.

It turns out that the articles under the topic insisted that they have a copy of the shooting and "stabbing" incident. However, upon checking the links, they contain faux pictures and misleading reports, saying that the rapper was stabbed in Fortitude Valley.

It became one of the false reports that surfaced since Lil Tjay's hospitalization. Far from what the outlets claimed, the rapper was shot multiple times in New Jersey and was never stabbed in Australia.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office also shared a press statement after the crime happened, saying that Lil Tjay was one of the victims of the gunfire incident.

"Just after midnight, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the Edgewater Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in 14 The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ. Upon their arrival to the area, officers found 21-year-old Tione 'Lil TJay' Merritt with multiple gunshot wounds and Antoine Boyd with a single gunshot wound," the official report said.

Lil Tjay Update After Shooting

Amid the false reports, Lil Tjay and his representatives still have not released an official statement regarding the event.

Instead, his friends - including Mehgan James and Akademiks - assured the fans that he had been doing well after getting out of the hospital.

"They saying lil tjay out of the hospital," Akademiks captioned the post.

It resonated with what a fan said about Lil Tjay days before his discharge, claiming that the rapper was "up and doing well."

"We live in a Cruel world filled with jealousy and Envy @liltjay is a big talented rapper, enemies want him gone but Glory be to God @liltjay has recovered and 10 x strong rapper @liltjay is G.O.A.T," the caption said.
