It appears that FN Meka won't be releasing any music or projects under Capitol Records as it has been reported that the rapper was dropped from the label just weeks after signing a deal with the music giant; what could be the reason?

According to New York Times music reporter Joe Coscarelli, the Capitol Music Group has cut ties with the virtual rapper.

The reason behind the record label severing ties with the musician is because some people called out the rapper for the racist overtones of his music.

He reportedly shared scenes of police brutality on Instagram and used racial slurs in the lyrics of his songs.

All of his content was written and produced through an artificial intelligence program, but there is a real human behind all his projects.

In a statement, CMG issued an apology, saying they are deeply sorry to the Black community for their "insensitivity in signing this project" without further research and asking questions about "equity and the creative process behind it." (via Uproxx)

They also expressed their gratitude to those people who called them out with "constructive feedback" as their inputs were used to determine their next move with the AI rapper.

As of this writing, Factory New, the team behind FN Meka, has not publicly responded on the issue.

Industry Blackout, a nonprofit organization, played a big role in Capitol Records' decision to terminate the contract as they called them out to remove the rapper from all platforms.
