Skid Row's Rachel Bolan has been in the industry for a long time and he knows that there are numerous internet trolls targeting online.

At first, the bassist admitted that he was heavily affected by the negative comments made by netizens, but he decided to do something that would give him a peace of mind.

Speaking to the "Appetite for Distortion" podcast, the musician compared people's perception of them as being under a microscope and "the scrutiny was just ridiculous and unwarranted."

The negative remarks started rolling in when they made their comeback in 1999 without their original frontman Sebastian Bach.

He noted that they were just doing the things they are supposed to do which is performing as a rock band, but there are people telling them to "give up."

He clapped back by asking those critics about what they do for a living, saying they're a "roofer."

"Give it up. You know what I mean?! You're telling someone to give up something, their passion and all that," he added. (via Ultimate Classic Rock)

Rachel Bolan Bothered By Negative Comments Until He Decided to Ignore Them

At first, Rachel Bolan admitted that he was bothered by the criticisms Skid Row received over the past few years, but his perception changed after talking to other people within the music scene.

He noted that he spoke to friends that are in popular bands and they told him that people are the same everywhere even if he goes to different message boards like NASCAR and baseball teams.

"'People just can't help being like that.' Some people, not all people, of course. But it's like, people just can't help it," he said.

The bassist went on to suggest that critics insult bands because they're not happy with their lives as they spend all their energies sitting down and start writing negative comments about musicians.

He added that when bad commenters go to bet, they will realize that they're the "miserable bastard" and they will be like that until they wake up the next day.
