Diane Warren is considered to be one of the most iconic musicians of all time as she wrote several legendary tracks that made her an award-winning songwriter. Recently, she finally revealed her songwriting techniques through the decades.

Speaking to American Songwriter, the Grammy Award-winning composer said her process is simple, she just keeps on writing and it made her better in her field.

"I'm always working and learning. Every song I write, I learn something, so it's basically my same process," she told the outlet.

She literally keeps on writing stuff even in the most unusual places like in the car, when she gets off the phone, and more.

Warren compared her situation to a screenwriter that constantly writes a script and it's her job to bring her words to life for it to connect to the world.

Regarding the process of a song from its writing to being released commercially, it appears that nothing is rushed under the songwriter's watch as she needs a lot of time perfecting her music creation.

It could even take her years to write, especially with the lyrics because she considers herself a perfectionist.

"I had this song for probably a year and a half, maybe a couple of years. I have a lot of songs like that, that are just waiting for that right moment," she told the outlet

Many artists have been writing songs inspired by their personal experiences, but Warren is completely different as she always looks outside of her perspective.


The main reason why she doesn't "pull anything" from her life is that it would be "pretty boring."

Throughout her career, the songwriter has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry like Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, John Legend, Beyoncé, Jon Batiste, Celine Dion, and many more.

Considered one of the most significant people in the music industry, Warren had received the biggest honors from several award-giving bodies like the Grammy Awards, the Oscars, the Emmys, the Golden Globes, and many more.

Even though she previously teamed up with Beyoncé for the 2011 song "I Was Here," many fans of Queen Bey called her out for seemingly shading the pop star online.

It all started when she shared a curious question, asking why one of the pop star's newest songs from "Renaissance" has 24 credited writers.

She later apologized to fans, saying her tweet didn't mean anything as it was just plain curiosity.
