New Orleans-hailed rapper Turk revealed in "Drink Champs," a podcast hosted by N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN that he once caught a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

"Me and [Lil] Wayne caught crabs together," the 41-year-old rapper shared. "But listen. Hear me out. See, a lot of people try to turn people's testimony into a mess-imony. That's what they try to do."

Spreading Awareness

Turk clarified that this was an old story, but relevant nonetheless, "they be like, 'Bro, why you bringing that shit up?' Because bro, it's a lot of youth out there doing the shit that we was doing, so I gotta tell them, 'Bro, I understand what y'all doing through, but check this out. [sic]"

The "It's In Me" rapper has mentioned this story previously during an interview with Off The Porch in 2020, where he noted that he and the "Mirror" rapper caught the STD following a night with two women from Houston.

"It just ain't the AIDS out there, you could catch this. Now they got the Monkey Pox and all this shit. They got all kinds of shit out there," he added.

Perhaps due to his passion for spreading awareness regarding diseases, he has been questioned why he keeps bringing up the story. To this, he replied, "if they can tell they story, I can tell mine. [sic]"

History

Turk and Lil Wayne are both members of the Hot Boys, the infamous Louisiana rap group formed in 1997. Other members of the group include B.G. and Juvenile.

Their debut studio album "Get It How U Live" was released in the same year under Cash Money Records.

Turk, born Tab Virgil Jr., also had his solo endeavors after the Hot Boys went their separate ways. He has remained close with Lil Wayne despite the split. He has also been featured on one of Lil Wayne's songs, "Fuck How It Turn Out (Remix)," released in 2018.

While his relationship with Lil Wayne remains solid, his relationship with Cash Money has turned sour. In 2015, he filed a lawsuit against the record label for unpaid royalties. It was reportedly settled outside of court.

In 2001, he released his studio album "Young & Thuggin'," which rose to the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 and number two on the US R&B charts.
