During last Monday's 2022 Emmy Awards, it was a big night for "Abbot Elementary" creator Quinta Brunson and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, both won in their respective categories and where the two most talked about celebrities online.

Television and theatre veteran Sheryl Lee Ralph made history as the second black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Barbara Howard on "Abbott Elementary", next to Jackee Harry in 1987.

On the other hand, "Abbot's" creator, Quinta Brunson made her mark in Television History as she took home an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.

However, as she takes her well-deserved Emmy speech, it would seem like Jimmy Kimmel has his own plans as Brunson is set to deliver her speech.

Will Arnett drags a "drunk" Jimmy Kimmel across the Emmys floor for a comedy sketch, something that is usual in awards shows like these, however, as Quinta was revealed to be the winner, and until she finishes her speech - Jimmy is still lying on the floor, pretending to be unconscious.

Fans of Quinta and the whole Twitter are fuming over the comedy bit that has "gone too far," even saying that Jimmy stole Brunson's huge moment - her first nomination and first Emmy win.

Yesterday, Emmy-Award-winning Sheryl Lee Ralph, who plays Quinta's character "mother figure" in "Abbott Elementary" opened up to PEOPLE Magazine about what she thought about Kimmel during her co-actress speech last Monday.

"I was absolutely confused. I was like, 'I wish that man would just get up off the ground... And then I realized it was Jimmy Kimmel," Ralph said in an interview after admitting that she thought it was Kimmel's Guillermo initially.

Right after the speech, Ralph also revealed that she had confronted Jimmy Kimmel about the speech, telling him to his face the "disrespect," and apparently the late-night talk show host understood.

Brunson revealed that she had no hard feelings toward Kimmel in a later interview, even noting that Jimmy was the first few people who had expressed support for the show way before the pilot episode was aired.

Just last night, Brunson had the perfect revenge on Jimmy Kimmel, as she interrupted the host on his monologue on his own show, asking if she could thank others she forgot last Monday because of the comedy bit.

During their actual interview, Jimmy sincerely apologized to Quinta about the "dumb comedy bit," to which the latter graciously appreciated and accepted.

"Abbott Elementary" Season 2 is set to premiere on September 21 on ABC, with Tony-winning actor Leslie Odom Jr. joining the cast.
