Pitchfork reports that Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy has announced a tour of the US and Europe in support of his upcoming album Sukierae, which he recorded with his new band Tweedy, featuring his 18-year-old son Spencer on drums. The tour kicks off in Athens, Georgia on Sept. 19 and ends in Leuven, Belgium on Nov. 15. In addition to the Tweedy tour dates, Wilco will also be playing four dates at the beginning of September in Ohio and Virginia.

Sukierae is set for release on Sept. 16 through dBpm Records. Here's what Tweedy had to say about the record's origins:

"When I set out to make this record, I imagined it being a solo thing, but not in the sense of one guy strumming an acoustic guitar and singing. Solo to me meant that I would do everything — write the songs, play all the instruments and sing. But Spencer's been with me from the very beginning demo sessions, playing drums and helping the songs take shape. In that sense, the record is kind of a solo album performed by a duo."
