Lindsey Buckingham will not meet his fans anytime soon as he canceled several concert dates because of a worrying reason.

Buckingham was set to continue the remaining dates on his European and U.K. tour in the next months, but the musician's team confirmed the postponement in a social media post.

On his Twitter account, his representative extended Buckingham's apology to his fans for being unable to meet them. It stated that the guitarist is currently suffering health issues.

"Due to ongoing health issues, Lindsey is regrettably having to cancel the remaining shows on his current European tour. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Lindsey sends his deepest apologies to all of his fans who were planning to attend and hopes to return to Europe in the future," the official statement said.

The cancelation happened after he was still able to perform during his seventh European tour date in London. He was supposed to perform in Glasgow (Monday), Liverpool (Tuesday), and Dublin (Thursday) before the announcement was made.

His official Instagram page also shared a similar post.

Buckingham still has upcoming US tour dates starting October 26. But as of press time, it remains unknown whether he would push through with the schedule or postpone them, as well.

Following the announcement, his fans sent him heartfelt well wishes while greeting him on his 78th birthday.

Lindsey Buckingham's Health Issues

Buckingham and his team did not indicate the real cause of the recent postponement, but it happened years after the musician underwent an emergency heart surgery.

In February 2019, the rocker received open heart surgery following a heart attack. Although it was successful, he and his family faced a health scare as the procedure left him with a damaged vocal cord.

At that time, they did not know whether the damage was permanent. But since Buckingham started performing after that, it is safe to say that he managed to get through it strongly.

Aside from his health issues, he also dealt with career problems after he was fired from Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks reportedly issued him a warning, which Buckingham referred to as a "he goes or I go" ultimatum to the other members.

He filed a lawsuit following the firing, but he reached a settlement out of court.
