In the past few days, Instagram has been a whirlwind after Kanye West seemed to have awakened everyone with a flurry of tirades against the Black Lives Matter Movement with the release of his statement shirt "White Lives Matter."

And in the course of his public display of outrage among other celebrities, many have been calling him "crazy," while this might be a light thing to say, Kanye West has admitted that hearing those hurt him.

In a two-part interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, Kanye touched on the topic of what he feels when being called like that.

"They keep on using the 'Oh he's crazy, he's crazy' thing. And it hurts my feelings when people say that. It hurts my feelings that people can ask, 'Hey, are you okay?'" he confessed.

Unbeknownst to many, the GRAMMY-winning artist has been medically diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. (via PEOPLE Magazine)

Kanye and her estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, had been very open and public with the former's diagnosis. In 2016, following a hospitalization due to a psychiatric emergency, Kanye was diagnosed with the mental illness.

He was even candid about it in 2019 during a David Letterman interview, noting that he even performs through it while having episodes.

Per The Conversation, Bipolar disorder, previously known as manic-depressive illness, involves alternating periods of intense mania (high energy and activity) and severe depression (low energy and mood).

The publication also says that untreated bipolar disorder could have "adverse effects" on the patient's life, including their relationship and how they could participate in society, but studies show that Lithium could help its treatment.

However, Kim, in a Vogue cover story in 2019, revealed that although Kanye accepted his "superpower" diagnosis, he opted out of being treated with pharmaceuticals.

"For him, being on medication is not really an option, because it just changes who he is. It is an emotional process, for sure," she added. "Right now everything is really calm. But we can definitely feel episodes coming, and we know how to handle them," Kim Kardashian said at the time.

Kanye West has received enormous flak and backlash from the African-American community for his controversial "White Lives Matter," and recent condemnation of the Black Lives Matter movement, which he calls a "scam."
