For several months prior to his coma, Al. B Sure has been sharing tidbits of his health issues on social media, but has relatively kept most of it close to his chest.

That is probably why his son's announcement that the R&B singer's road recovery from a coma sent a shock wave to fans-because no one really knew about it.

The producer's son, Albert Brown IV, went on Instagram to address his followers, thanking them for all the birthday greetings; and he also revealed that Al. B Sure is doing a lot better after being hospitalized for the past two months.

"Thank you every 1 for the bday wishes! Been kinda out of it and in my own world!" Brown IV began in his Instagram caption. "[Al. B Sure] Pops been hospitalized for 2 months and he just made it out!"

"It's time to get the f**k up, Pop! We got s**t to do! And countries to visit! Thank [you] for all the concerns and worries about my family! Today is my day but this is for my Pops! All I want for him is to get out [of] that f**kin' hospital! We need u big homie!"

He also shared a series of pictures, some of which featured Al. B Sure, while some were of himself.

Road To Recovery

Al. B Sure went on social media to reassure fans that he is truly working on his recovery, as he shared a picture of himself in a hospital gown, being assisted by two staff on either side.

"I'll share more of my health experience soon in hopes to encourage us all to stay on top of our [health and wellness]," he continued. He also added #GoSeeTheDoctor at the end.

Support from fans poured in. The comments were full of well wishes for the singer. "Wow! Didn't know this! I met [Al. B Sure] many years ago, in the '80s when his 1st album came out. He was on a promotional tour & came to Universal Records in Philly. I hugged him way too tight, he was tired & yet still managed to be gracious. Sending another hug!" A fan replied.

"Great news after a hard day of loss in our music community. Sending prayers for your continued and total restoration, brother," another wrote.

This comes after several months of the singer sharing cryptic updates about his health on social media.

In one post, he wrote about his medical journey, "I'd [first] like to say a very humble thank you for the prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes as I go through this medical journey."

"Waking up daily to monitors, wires, and machines keeping you stable is a new experience. I have a very humbling, newfound respect for the nurses, RNs, and doctors that are on the frontline and there around the clock making certain that all is well."
