Tame One died over the weekend, according to an announcement made by his mother.

Darlene Brown, the mother of rapper Rahem Brown, 52, revealed the devastating news and updates, "I can't express this any other way. My son, Rahem Brown, Tamer Dizzle, is dead."

Tame One Cause of Death

She went on to disclose that Tame One's cause of death is due to heart failure, per The Sun.

"The medical examiner says the six pharmaceutical drugs that Trinitas hospital prescribed to him last Friday, combined with the weed he smoked over this weekend...his heart simply gave out."

Remembering Tame One

The rapper, well remembered for his successes with the Artifacts, Leak Bros, and The Weathermen, had no publicly recognized underlying health problem.

However, he is revered in the community as a great hip-hop figure and graffiti artist.

He frequently mixed both interests, like in the song "Wrong Side of Da Tracks," which began with the sound of rattling spray paint cans.

Tame One went solo and began performing with various bands, including The Weathermen, and recorded eight albums.

The Artifacts would rejoin for infrequent concerts over the years, but they didn't release another project until August 2022, when they released "No Expiration Date," a collaboration with producer Buckwild.

Tame One Touching Tributes

Per AllHipHop, Rah Digga, a founding member of the New Jersey-based Hip Hop ensemble Artifacts, also confirmed the passing with an emotional homage and condolences on Instagram.

"I usually don't race to the internet to post news like this when I'm in the middle of feeling it...but we gonna give this Jersey legend his muthafuckin flowers!!"

Veteran A&R Dante Ross also said, "Rest East Tame One of the mighty Artifacts crew...Had the pleasure of working with him many moons ago. MY deepest of condolences to his closest friends and family."

Just Blaze, a hip-hop producer, too expressed his grief while recalling how he and Tame Off became friends.

He said that "back in the Pipeline nightclub days in Newark," the Artifacts were the first to rap on his tracks.

"That experience gave me the confidence and assurance that I could accomplish this music thing for real."

Tame One's death was announced on the same day that another rapper, New York superstar Hurricane G, died.

Gloria Rodriguez was a music veteran who has worked with Diddy and other notable musicians throughout the course of her 30-year career.

On Hurricane G, no cause of death has been disclosed.
