GloRilla has enjoyed a year of success following the release of her breakout single "F.N.F. (Let's Go)," which has earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Performance.

The Memphis, Tennessee native, however, recently revealed just what it took to come up with and make the successful single-it included a change of lifestyle.

"Me, Teezy, and Keila did a 60-day cleanse starting March 1st of this year which was supposed to be over May 1st because we said we couldn't go into 2022 the same way we did last year, wrote the rapper on Twitter.

"We said something gotta give! So we said for 60 days, no n***as, no clubbing, no alcohol."

GloRilla then detailed her journey, which included prioritizing her fitness and financial growth. "We had to exercise Monday-Friday for an hour, Drink water & we had to make most of our day consist of figuring out a way to get money. "I made FNF April 20th & dropped it April 29th which left 2 days until the 60-day cleanse was over. Safe to say something most definitely gave!"

The Song That Started It All

According to reports, "F.N.F (Let's Go)" was considered the song of the summer, and thrust the rapper into stardom. It peaked at No. 1 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and No. 42 on the Billboard 200.

In addition, it earned Glorilla a BET Hip Hop Awards nomination for Song of the Year, and now a Grammy Award nod for Best Rap Song.

GloRilla shared the exciting news with fans and expressed her enthusiasm through social media.

"The same song they were clowning me & my friends about saying we were Ugly & Dusty just got nominated for a Grammy," she wrote on Twitter. "When God is on your side, you cannot fail."

Overnight Success?

The 23-year-old rapper's manager shared how GloRilla "opened up doors and put a spotlight on a lot of females," referring to female rappers from Memphis.

Although it may seem like she just got lucky with her breakout singer, GloRilla revealed that she has been trying to put up her music career back in 2016.

"I never stopped putting out music. I got discouraged a lot of times, but I ain't ever stop - I had started going broke," she had said.

However, her roots in music run deeper than that. In an interview with XXL, she shared that she had her first taste of music when she joined the church choir.

"I got a lot of solos in the church choir, and growing up, the only music my mama let us listen to was gospel. We used to have to sneak and listen to the other music."

With roots so deep in music and several nominations under her belt, GloRilla is definitely one of the female rappers to watch out for.
