Candian-Chinese ex-popstar Kris Wu was sentenced to a 13-year jail term in a court in China after being proven guilty of rape and group licentiousness.
Wu was already arrested and charged in August 2021. Although the case was reportedly heard behind closed doors, the allegations against the former EXO member were pretty huge.
According to Variety, Wu will be deported out of the country in China after serving his 13-year jail term, which means he wouldn't be out until 2035.
An 18-year-old Du Meizhou accused Wu of raping her when she was 17 years old, all while she was under the influence of alcohol. Meizhou, later on, also accused him of doing the same lewd things to two other women, who were all minors and both drunk.
Initially, Chinese police were reported to have sided with the popstar, but it was only weeks after that he was arrested "after investigation in accordance with the law."

Apart from the strong accusations, Wu was also said to have forced three women to have intercourse with him in 2020, all while still drunk. Similar accusations were also thrown in another encounter where he had arranged another in 2018 with two drunk women again. (via Variety)
The publication also reported that The Beijing Municipal Tax Service of the State Taxation Administration had fined Wu RMB600 million or $83 million for tax evasion, all on top of his 13-year sentence.
With the scandalous accusations now turning out to be true, fans of the former musician are wondering how much is Kris Wu's net worth and whether he can survive this huge problem.
