Selena Gomez had everyone decoding the meaning of a comment she left on a recent TikTok video about her alleged reasons why she was losing weight when she was in a relationship with Justin Bieber a few years back.
Gomez and Bieber, most commonly referred to as Jelena by their fans, were in a relationship with each other for an on-and-off again period from 2010 until 2018.
Now, Bieber is happily married to his wife Hailey Bieber, and just celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary. As for Gomez, she was months after releasing her highly-controversial documentary, "My Mind & Me," an in-depth analysis and retelling of Gomez's battle with depression, and bipolar disorder, among many other health bouts.
Very recently, in a TikTok video circulating on the platform, Gomez found herself commenting on a sad emoji, a particularly vague response from what the video is all about. (via Daily Mail)
A montage of photos of Gomez in her workout clothes, showing her slim and skinny body, was captioned by the video creator as "The reason why Selena is always skinny when she dates Justin."

After a flurry of some photos, the short clip ultimately ended in a screenshot of an Instagram comment she made in the past, responding to a rather encouraging expression of love to both her and Bieber at the time.
"Selena Gomez posted a beautiful selfie earlier and I commented to her 'Justin Bieber really messed up. I still love both of you though, Jelena Forever <3' and she said this. Now I know. No girl should ever feel like she isn't good enough. my heart goes to you, @selenagomez. Thank you for replying to me. I love you so much!!!" the comment said at the time.
Selena, however, had a worrying response at the time.
"no love. He's rather models. I'm just too normal," Gomez said.
Now, in the new video, it suggests that Gomez was trying to become physically fit to become the woman that Bieber rathers.
Upon the recollection of his comment, Selena only commented a sad emoji, prompting a lot of speculation about what this meant.
Some say that Gomez is still saddened by this deduction, while some thought that this realization that she was skinny-ing for Justin Bieber is what saddened her.
Gomez has since addressed negative comments about her weight and body figure pretty straightforwardly, but like any negative comments that were thrown at her before, she has bounced them off gracefully.
