Last week, Amy Winehouse's biopic trended online after photos of lead actress Marisa Abela was posted by director Sam Taylor-Johnson. Following this, many fans are wondering who would play the singer's ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

More information regarding the upcoming film "Back to Black" is coming to light as Deadline reported that three more actors have been confirmed to join the biopic.

According to Collider, Jack O'Connell will star as the late pop star's husband in the movie along with two more actors, Lesley Manville and Eddie Marsan, as Winehouse's grandmother and father respectively.

The movie will revolve around the Grammy Award-winning singer's "vibrant years living in London in the early aughts and her intense journey to fame."

As of this writing, neither Sam Taylor-Johnson nor anyone from the movie's production team has confirmed an official release date for the film.

Amy Winehouse, Blake Fielder-Civil's Tragic Relationship

According to ATI, Fielder-Civil started out as a production assistant and later met Winehouse at a pub in 2005. At the time, the singer wasn't that famous yet globally, but her career skyrocketed into the international scene after the release of "Back to Black," which was reportedly about her ex.

Initially, the singer attempted to self-medicate her anxiety with alcohol and marijuana, but after getting into a relationship with the young man, both of them began using heroin and crack cocaine.

In 2006, Winehouse got in trouble after assaulting a fan during the Glastonbury Music Festival for criticizing her lover.

The pair tied the knot the following year and it was only the beginning of the tragic events in their lives. The couple was arrested in October of the same year for marijuana possession but was later released after paying a fine.

The following month, Fielder-Civil was arrested again after assaulting bartender James King months prior, he was sentenced to 27 months in 2008.

Since her husband is in jail, this was the time when Winehouse's addiction got worse.

In a previous interview with The Guardian, the husband admitted that there were drugs involved in their relationship and the singer's addiction "got a lot worse" when he was behind bars. Upon getting released, he claimed that Mitch Winehouse told him that if he loved his daughter, he should divorce her and he did.

Even after the musician's death, Fielder-Civil reportedly continued using drugs and even overdosed in 2012. After the incident, he remained sober and later settled down with his wife, Sarah Aspin.
