Every year, the Grammy Awards features an In Memoriam segment to give tribute to the artists and musicians who have passed away in the past year - giving them a soulful tribute performance by star-studded singers.

In the 2022 Grammy Awards, six artists took the stage to honor the talent that was lost in the past year. However, netizens have pointed out that one artist's death was not included in the ceremony.

Grammy Awards 2023 In Memoriam Segment

Kacey Musgraves sang an emotional rendition of Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miner's Daughter." Lynn passed away last October 2022 as she peacefully died on her deathbed in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

On the other hand, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, and Mick Fleetwood remembered the former Fleetwood Mac vocalist and songwriter Christina McVie's death in a hauntingly beautiful cover of "Songbird." After a brief illness, McVie died in the hospital last November 2022.

Quavo, along with Maverick City Music, who went home tied with Beyonce as the most awarded act of the night, sang a chilling tribute of "Without You," and "See You Again" for slain Migos rapper Takeoff. Takeoff's death sent the hip-hop community into mourning after the talented rapper was gunned down in Houston last Nov. 1, 2023.

Artists like Naomi Judd, Olivia Newton-John, PnB Rock, DJ Kay Slay, Coolio, Andy Fletcher, Vangelis, Lisa Marie Presley, Jeff Beck, and even David Crosby were included in the In Memoriam segment.

However, one artist whose death has shocked the entertainment industry seemingly missed out on the Grammy In Memoriam segment - Aaron Carter.

Aaron Carter Death Missed out on Grammy In Memoriam Segment

Aaron Carter fans were the ones who pointed out that he was missing on the tribute performance.

A fan even shared her frustration on social media, asking The Recording Academy how they managed to leave out an artist who has sold a million albums and had devoted himself to music.

"Sad that the Grammys ignored Aaron Carter in its otherwise excellent In Memoriam. Aaron was an extremely successful artist who paid a heavy toll for it, had a hard time & unlike some with redemption arcs, was mocked until death. He was a nice kid when I worked with him," another shared.

Aaron Carter's death remains unknown up until now as the Los Angeles Coroner's Office has deferred the investigation on his body.
