Taylor Hawkins' Foo Fighters bandmates made his what would have been 51st birthday extra special through a heartfelt message.

On Feb. 17, the music industry started marking Taylor Hawkins' birthday. The legendary drummer would have turned 51, but he died a month after his 50th birthday last year.

On Foo Fighters' official Instagram page, the band shared a black-and-white photo of their late member alongside a short but heartfelt message, "Miss you so much."

Their official Twitter page also shared the same photo and message.

Taylor Hawkins and Foo Fighters' fans also marked the late drummer's birthday with clips and photos of him. They also wrote birthday messages for him as they remembered him on his first birthday since his passing.

One said, "Happy birthday in heaven to the great and unrepeatable Taylor Hawkins. Today would have been Taylor's 51st birthday. Thanks for the music and art. Forever in our hearts and souls. Rest in peace, Mr. Taylor Hawkins..."

"It's 17 Feb where I am, which means this is the first birthday for Taylor Hawkins since he passed. Thinking of Taylor and his family . Happy heavenly birthday," another wrote.

Taylor Hawkins' Last Moments With Foo Fighters

Until his last moments, Hawkins spent his life with his beloved band.

Taylor Hawkins died on March 25, 2022, while and Foo Fighters were on tour in Colombia. He was 50. At that time, they were set to perform and headline the Festival Estéreo Festival. However, the organizers soon announced that a medical emergency occurred and that the band would no longer appear.

Foo Fighters shared the news about his death through a statement but did not disclose his cause of death.

Meanwhile, news outlets soon cited Bogota's secretary of health who said that an ambulance was sent to a hotel in the city after receiving a call about a man experiencing chest pain. Responders performed resuscitation but failed to revive him.

Colombia's Prosecutor's Office soon released a statement confirming that the toxicological tests conducted through his urine detected 10 psychoactive substances and medicines. They disclosed that these contributed to his death.

Among the drugs included opioids, THC, tricyclic antidepressants, and benzodiazepines.

Further findings from the forensic experts said Taylor Hawkins' heart weighed at least 600 grams at the time of his death. It was double the average of 300 to 350 pounds.
