Chris Brown hit back at those followers who kept on bringing up his 2009 assault case after attacking Rihanna.

Over a decade after then-17-year-old Brown was charged with felony assault, the singer shared how tired he is of people who still condemned him after the incident. He then called what happened "a mistake he made when he was a teen" through a new post.

On his Instagram Story Friday, the now-33-year-old "Under the Influence" singer posted a lengthy rant to call out those who continuously bring back the "narrative" that he abused Rihanna.

"Obviously you are at a point in your life where either you are very broke or broken..." one of his posts read. "THE FACT you think you have to speak negatively about me makes u look so lame... YOUR LIFE AND CAREER MUST S**K RIGHT NOW.. minding your business WOULD'VE been best."

Brown questioned where the "cancel culture" for white celebrities was as they reportedly enjoy freedom and peace even after dating underage women and having a history of violence.

Although the "Wet the Bed" hitmaker has been suffering from repeated condemnation, he seemingly offered support to the Fenty founder when she performed at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show.

Chris Brown, Rihanna's Assault Case Revisited

Brown's comments referred to the 2009 incident in which he and Rihanna got into an argument that led to physical violence.

At that time, the "Lift Me Up" singer suffered facial injuries and was hospitalized after the incident. The Guardian reported that he was soon charged with felony assault and making criminal threats.

Brown pleaded guilty to a felony on June 22 and underwent community labor, domestic violence counseling, and five years' probation as part of his plea deal. Years later, he was jailed  for violating rules at the treatment facility.

Meanwhile, he was sued for $20 million in 2022 after claims that he drugged and assaulted a woman emerged.

Before Brown broke his silence regarding the assault, Kelly Rowland notably showed support for the singer. She told a news outlet that the singer should be forgiven for anything he did and thought as she believes everybody deserves grace and forgiveness.

Her comments surfaced after Brown was booed when Rowland received his award at the 2022 AMAs amid his absence. During the acceptance, she told the crowd to stop before singing his praises in her speech.
