James Blunt is willing to go to lengths to get the perfect shot in a music video.

The British army officer-turned-singer hails from Tidowrth, Hampshire in England, and began a career in the British army before following his dream and launching his music career.

The dedication he showed in the army definitely shines through his music and artistry, as he had once risked his life while filming a music video.

Luckily, the 49-year-old singer managed to walk away from the accident with a cut on his lip.

According to reports, Blunt was filming the music video for "You're Beautiful," when he hurt himself after jumping off a cliff on the island.

Despite how wild this may sound, this isn't actually the first time Blunt has been put in a dangerous situation.

Back in January, he confronted an intruder in his home by arming himself and running after the burglar-naked!

He shared the experience in an interview: "I kind of tooled up, so I was running round the house with various weaponry - naked - and discovered it was a picture that had broken off a wall! But my wife was impressed."

Should music not work out for the singer, he should seriously consider becoming a comedian, especially since he loves to crack jokes and poke fun at himself.

In another instance, he talked about choosing music over the army during one of Elton John's White Tie and Tiara parties.

"So I'd just gone out and hired a white tie and tiara. And turned up looking ridiculous. And everyone else was pop stars and they just turned up as pop stars!"

"So I was the only one, looking like a waiter and looking like a pratt. And so I learned the hard way, I won't be doing that again," he concluded.

While he has received much success in his short six-year stint in the army, his music career also took off.

He shot to stardom with the release of his debut studio album "Back to Bedlam," mostly because of his massive hits "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye My Lover."

His album became the best-selling albums in the UK chart history, selling over 20 million records across the world.

Blunt has a reported net worth of $18 million, won two BRITs Awards, five Grammy Award nominations, and was awarded a Doctorate of Music from the University of Bristol in 2016.
