Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun split up after a year of engagement after paparazzi snapped photos of the former hugging it out with Tyga earlier this week.
According to TMZ, sources close to Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun have confirmed that the pop-punk power couple has already called off their engagement. The couple was engaged last April 2022 in Paris when Mod Sun popped the ring in front of the Eiffel Tower to the pop-punk princess.

The outlet's source also revealed that Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun "tried to make things work" and has been in an "on and off" relationship for the past few months.
Not only was the Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun engagement called off, but they are no longer together as a couple, too - which now contextualizes Avril Lavigne's photo with Tyga.
However, as of this writing, the reason why Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun split up is still unclear, but a third-party relationship or cheating was mentioned on either side.
Earlier this Sunday, Avril Lavigne and Tyga were seen hanging out on Nobu. Meanwhile, sources close to the scene also revealed that the two had been close for quite a while now, but it's more of a platonic relationship rather than a romantic one.

Avril Lavigne, Mod Sun Engaged No More?
In photos posted last Apr. 8, 2022, Lavigne posted a photo carousel on Instagram sharing the "unexpected" proposal that Mod Sun has staged in Paris, France.
The Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun proposal wasn't actually on the plans of their romantic getaway in Paris.
"It was the most perfect, romantic proposal I could ever ask for. We were in Paris on a boat in the Seine River. We had a violin player, champagne and roses. It felt like time stood still, and it was just the two of us in the moment," she told People Magazine about her engagement at the time.
Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun had been public about their love and affection for each other, which is why it was quite surprising that the two had broken up not more than a year since they were engaged.
The couple debuted on the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet, attempting to steal the Best Public Display of Affection Award from Kourtney Kardashian and Mod Sun's fellow collaborator Travis Barker. The two shared a kiss on the red carpet, marking their debut as a couple to the press. Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun dating rumors started back in February 2021.
