Did Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine during their "Don't Worry Darling" Venice Film Festival premiere?

Chris finally spoke up about the 2022 debate- did the "As It Was" singer spit on him?

Fans may recall that the actor's publicist dismissed the spitting allegations, stating, "This is a stupid tale - a pure fabrication and the consequence of an unusual web illusion that is plainly deceptive and allows for dumb conjecture."

After the "Golden" singer sat down next to the actor, the viral footage appeared to show Harry Styles spitting on Chris.

But in an interview with Esquire, however, the "Star Trek" star said, "Harry did not spit on me."

Chris even described the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter as "a very kind guy."

The 42-year-old American actor was reportedly on the plane flying back from Venice when his publicist woke him up and said, "'We have to craft a statement on what happened in Venice.' She showed me the thing and it did look, indeed, like Harry spit on me. He didn't spit on me."

Chris also said, "I think Harry leaned down and said, 'It's just words, isn't it?'"

He went on to say that when he and the "Watermelon Sugar" singer were all jetlagged and trying to answer questions, "your brain becomes muddled and you start speaking gibberish, so we made a joke: 'It's just words.'"

The "Wonder Woman" star admitted that he felt awful since "the hate that the movie received was completely out of proportion with what was onscreen."

Chris Pine expressed dissatisfaction with the Venice Film Festival discussion about cast relationships. "Venice saw typical things being swept up in a story that people wanted to build, compounded by the metastasizing that can happen in the Twittersphere," he said of the controversy surrounding the film's debut in Venice.

"Don't Worry Darling" was released in September 2022 and garnered early curiosity owing to its enigmatic narrative. Yet, Spitgate was only one of the problems that arose during the film's press tour, as allegations circulated regarding on-set fighting between director Olivia Wilde and star Florence Pugh.

She also drew attention after declining to conduct press at the Venice Film Festival, avoiding interviews and rejoining with her co-stars on the red carpet.

However, Chris assured and insisted to Esquire, "If there was drama, there was drama. I absolutely didn't know about it, nor really would I have cared."

Olivia Wilde also tried to shut down rumors of a rift by complimenting the "Little Women" actress.
