It appears that Lana Del Rey has a possibility of NOT performing at the Glastonbury Festival in 2023.

The "Summertime Sadness" will perform on The Other Stage on Saturday afternoon of the festival, which runs from June 21 to June 25. The singer, though, threatened to back out of her main position.

Once the event organizers revealed the lineup for this year, the outcry against the music festival raged on.

Together with Arctic Monkeys and Guns N Roses, Sir Elton John will headline the event.

The revelation, however, sparked outrage among music enthusiasts, who accused the top-billed musicians of lacking diversity because the performers are all white males.

Lana Del Rey has also taken issue with the announcement, claiming that her name was buried on the seventh line of names.

The "Blue Jeans" singer turned to social mediato criticize the Glastonbury news and appeared to threaten to cancel her appearance.

"Well, I'm headlining the 2nd stage. But since there was no consideration for announcing that we'll see."

To make things worse, an insider revealed to The Sun how the 38-year-old singer is "disappointed."

They went on to say, "She was proud to be doing a headline slot, but on the announcement graphic her name is buried among lesser-known artists."

"She feels let down being presented as an afterthought lagging behind the all-male trio."

So far, 55 artists have been confirmed for the Glastonbury Festival in 2023, with 53% being male and just 43% being from non-white organizations or groups that contain non-white individuals.

Event organizer Emily Eavis defended this year's roster, claiming that many festivals are having difficulty attracting female headliners due to an industry "pipeline" problem and that more funding is needed.

She told The Guardian, "We're trying our best so the pipeline needs to be developed. This starts way back with the record companies, and radio. I can shout as loud as I like but we need to get everyone on board."

Emily also stated that the Glastonbury Festival is more concerned with gender balance than with any other facet of diversity.

The initial Glastonbury plans for this year included a female headliner, but that anonymous artist, thought to be Taylor Swift, who was scheduled to perform at the canceled 2020 event, backed out after "changing her touring arrangements."

Taylor, after all, has scheduled "The Eras Tour" dates for June 23 and 24, which coincide with the Glastonbury Festival, which runs from June 21 to 25. Guns N' Roses were eventually announced as the unidentified headliner's replacement.
