Matt Cameron has been known to be Pearl Jam's drummer for decades now, but there have been rumors circulating about him joining Foo Fighters for their upcoming tour as a replacement for the late Taylor Hawkins; could this be true?

According to Billboard, the musician recently took to his Instagram stories to speak out about reports of him joining the legendary band for their series of concerts.

It appears that there is no truth behind the rumors as he debunked the claims, writing, "FYI the internet rumors are false, I haven't joined the Foos," along with a heart emoji.

Matt Cameron Joining Foo Fighters Rumors

It all began when The Sun U.K. published a report last week about the musician joining Foo Fighters. The outlet noted that the Pearl Jam member, who's a close friend of Taylor Hawkins, as well as Atom Willard of Angels & Airwaves are two of the possible artists who would join the band on their tour.

A source claimed, "The Foos have been working with a number of musicians close to Taylor and the band over the past few months. Matt and Atom are front runners to drum at the gigs, the first of which is in May."

Foo Fighters Tour 2023

The American rock band will continue their highly-anticipated tour dates after Taylor Hawkins passed away last year.

According to their official website, Foo Fighters will kick off their series of shows at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire, on May 24, 2023.

Aside from their tour, the group will also perform at different festivals like Sonic Temple Arts & Music Festival, Boston Calling Music Festival, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Festival D'ete De Quebec, Ottawa Bluesfest, and many more.

Their last scheduled show would be at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 21, 2023.
